This webinar will focus on common scams and frauds, including the warning signs, how to avoid becoming a victim, and where to seek help if you think you're a victim. There will be special emphasis on common telephone scams such as the "grandparent scam," the “Internal Revenue Service scam,” the "foreign lottery scam" and the “Microsoft Support scam.”
PRESENTER
Gary S. Brown is the statewide Elder Abuse Coordinator for New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman. He is also the Assistant Attorney General-in-Charge of the AG’s Westchester Regional Office. Mr. Brown serves as Chair of the Westchester Elder Abuse Coalition and is a member of the Elder Financial Exploitation Advisory Board of the National Adult Protective Services Association.
A leading expert in recognizing scams and providing practical advice on how to avoid them, Mr. Brown has presented to many prominent organizations, including the American Bar Association and the New York StateWide Senior Action Council.
